VACCINE — The Yogyakarta City Government is again holding free rabies vaccinations for dogs, cats and monkeys during September 2024.
This mass vaccination is an effort by the Yogyakarta City Government to prevent the potential for rabies and maintain the rabies-free status in the City of Yogyakarta.
Head of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry of the Yogyakarta City Agriculture and Food Service, Sri Panggarti said that the Yogyakarta City Agriculture and Food Service has prepared around 3,000 doses of rabies vaccine.
Vaccinations are carried out free of charge in 45 sub-districts, the Giwangan Animal Polyclinic, and veterinarians, from September 2 – 30, 2024.
“For the people of Yogyakarta City who have dogs, cats and monkeys, they can come directly to the vaccination location in their respective areas according to the schedule,” said Panggarti
Furthermore, Panggarti said that currently the Yogyakarta City Agriculture and Food Service is in the process of preparing the rabies vaccination schedule. Owners can come directly to the location, bringing their pets.
There are several requirements for animals that can be vaccinated, namely in healthy condition and at least 4 months old. For female animals in a condition that is not pregnant and breastfeeding. In addition, the animal has been given deworming medicine for at least 1 week and a maximum of 3 months before the vaccine. (*)
