SINGER – Ariani Nisma Putri (18) or familiarly called Putri Ariani has been officially accepted as one of the new students at Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta. The singer who once won 4th place in America’s Got Talent (AGT) was accepted to study at the Faculty of Law through the pathway Search for Outstanding Achievement Seeds in the arts.
Met by the media at the UGM campus, Putri Ariani admitted that she was happy and proud to be a new student at Universitas Gadjah Mada. According to her, it took her about a year to choose the best education for her future.
“There were many considerations. This year I thought a lot about continuing Putri’s education, finally choosing UGM. Putri thinks, UGM is the right choice for me,” she said.
Regarding her choice to study in the law study program, Faculty of Law, Putri emphasized that she wanted to learn something new, not only in the fields of singing and music.
“Putri wants to learn something new. Hopefully, I can advocate for disabled and non-disabled female friends to achieve their dreams,” she said.
Although Putri is a graduate of the Indonesian Music High School , according to Putri, by choosing to study at the Faculty of Law, she wants to try and gain new insights.
However, Putri said that she will not just leave her career in singing. She wants her education and career to run side by side.
“Putri wants education and career to run side by side, I will continue my studies. This year, I will release an album,” she explained.
Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K), Ph.D., said that Putri Ariani is one of 10 thousand new students at Universitas Gadjah Mada who come from various regions, various backgrounds, so that they provide enthusiasm and motivation for each other’s success.
Ova hopes that during her time as a UGM student, Putri can carry out her studies well on the UGM campus. “Hopefully, your studies will go smoothly and you will be focused. We strive to make UGM a comfortable and enjoyable place to learn for everyone,” said Ova
Putri Ariani, is a visually impaired solo pop singer-songwriter. Her name began to be known since she participated in the 2014 Indonesia’s Got Talent competition and managed to emerge as the winner. When she was a teenager, she began to attract international attention when she received a golden buzzer from Simon Cowell at the 2023 America’s Got Talent (AGT) event, which successfully placed 4th in the competition.
