ALCOHOL — The Sleman Regency Government found cases of school children who had consumed alcohol. Therefore, they took action by closing 7 beverage stores suspected of serving illegal alcohol sales.
The Head of the Sleman Regency Civil Service Police Unit, Evi Shavitri Nurmala Dewi said that the stores/kiosks/outlets that were closed did not have or could not possibly have permits according to the applicable Regional Regulation.
This was done in response to public concerns regarding the large number of liquor sales that did not have permits according to the Regional Regulation as well as reports from the Child Protection Commission and schools considering that Sleman Regency is a city of education.
Because her party found reports that these alcoholic beverages were sold to school-age children.
“Stores/kiosks/outlets that violate the applicable regional regulation are subject to administrative steps in the form of closure, sealing, and being given a Business Closure Letter.” said Evi to reporters, recently.
Evi emphasized that this operation involved the Sleman Police, Sleman District Military Command, Military Police, Ombudsman, Depok Military District Command, Depok Police, Depok Sub-district, Sleman Regency Industry and Trade Service, Sleman Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Service, Sleman Regional Secretariat’s Economic Section, and Sleman Regency National Unity and Politics Agency.
This is a follow-up to the issuance of the first and second warning letters to shops/kiosks/outlets selling illegal alcoholic beverages in the Sleman Regency area based on Sleman Regent Regulation Number 10 of 2023 concerning Implementing Regulations of Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2019 concerning Control and Supervision of Alcoholic Beverages and Prohibition of Mixed Beverages.
