ANIMAL — Apart from being a transaction location for ornamental animals and animals, the Yogyakarta Various Animals and Ornamental Plants Market (Pasthy) has apparently become an alternative holiday destination for Yogyakarta residents.
On every holiday or big day, this market is visited by many community members for recreation with their families. Even during this Eid holiday, the number of visitors was recorded to have increased compared to normal days,
Head of the Technical Services Unit (UPT) of the Yogyakarta Various Animals and Ornamental Plants Market (PASTHY) Agus Purnomo said that during the Eid holiday there were more and more tourists, dominated by small family groups.
They not only come from Yogyakarta residents but also out-of-town tourists who happen to stop by in Yogyakarta City. There are those who just look at the collection of animals and ornamental plants, but there are also those who make transactions by buying animals and ornamental plants on display at the place.
“Usually visitors who come to the fish and ornamental plant zone enjoy various foods in the culinary zone.” Agus said to reporters recently.
Agus added, in order to increase the comfort of visitors and tourists, currently PASTHY is carrying out sidewalk repairs in collaboration with the Housing and Settlement Area Public Works Department.
One of the visitors named Regina said that PASTHY is an interesting tourist destination to visit. With a variety of plants and animals that can be an educational medium for children.
“It’s very interesting because you can take your children to see various types of animals, and you have already bought a hamster as a pet. Moreover, visiting PASTHY is free and you only pay for parking. “Hopefully cleanliness will continue to be maintained and improved, visitors will become more busy and traders will also become more prosperous,” She said.
