CINEMA — The Yogyakarta City Culture Office is again holding the Kotabaru Heritage Film Festival (KHFF). at Widoro Kandang Field, Kotabaru, Yogyakarta. This event will be held for 3 days, starting from August 9, 2024 to August 11, 2024.
The opening of this festival was marked by the screening of a famous 1970s film entitled “Cintaku di Kampus Biru ” , directed by Ami Prijono. This festival also carries various competition programs. This program is a form of appreciation given to film works that explore the richness of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
The Head of the Yogyakarta City Culture Office, Yetti Martanti, said that the implementation of this activity aims to shape the perception of present and future society through artifacts and archives from the past, so that it can arouse deep experiences of the works of local filmmakers.
“This festival not only aims to promote heritage-themed films, but also to provide a profound experience to the public where heritage-themed films are packaged and presented in meaningful entertainment,” said Yetti, Friday (9/8/2024).
Yetti further said the KHFF 2024 is the second Festival activity. However, different from before, because this year the Festival presents a Musical Cinema performance that combines dance with cinematic experiences from young Yogyakarta artists.
“Musical Cinema or Dance Cinema not only creates space for artists but also strengthens the relationship between art, culture, and society in the city of Yogyakarta,” she said. (*/)
