ADVERTISEMENT — The Yogyakarta City Government through the Civil Service Police Unit has taken down hundreds of politically charged advertisements leading to the nomination in the Regional Head Election hat violated the rules. Both advertisements that are not licensed and advertisements that are licensed but the installation location violates the provisions of regional regulations regarding advertisements.
Head of Civil Service Police of Yogyakarta City Octo Noor Arafat said , that there were 230 socialization tools or political advertisements for the nomination in the Pilkada that had been taken down by Satpol PP of Yogyakarta City.
” The implementation of the control was based on Yogyakarta City Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of Advertisements. The regulation stipulates that advertisements, including political advertisements, must obtain permits and pay advertising tax.” Octo told the reporter recently
He stated that previously Satpol PP of Yogyakarta City had taken down approximately 15 political billboards that were not licensed. This is because the provisions for installing advertisements have been regulated in accordance with the provisions in the Advertising Regulation. It is stated in article 9 paragraph 2 letter d that advertisements may not be installed on trees, electric poles, telephone poles and/or traffic signs.
For that, Octo hopes that each team that supports certain candidates can observe and obey the provisions of the Regional Regulation. (*)
