FUN RUN — In order to celebrate UGM’s 61st Anniversary, the Faculty of Forestry UGM will hold a “Forestry Run” Running Competition on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
The activity, which is conceptualized as a “Fun Run” event, will be a gathering place for running enthusiasts, the UGM academic community and the general public.
Vice Dean for Research, Community Service and Cooperation, Faculty of Forestry UGM, Prof. Ir. Widiyatno, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., said that the 2024 FORESTRY RUN activity is open to all groups, from children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly, as well as friends with disabilities who are welcome to participate do not have to run along the route, but can walk leisurely.
“Quantitatively, the target participants for this Forestry Run activity are 1,500 participants. Although it is possible that there will be an additional participant quota as long as the registration deadline has not been closed,” said Widiyatno in his statement to reporters, Wednesday (25/9).
Forestry Run 2024 offers 2 categories of running distances that can be chosen by participants, namely 5K and 10K which are carried out simultaneously without Cut Off Time. Therefore, all participants who reach the Finish line will receive a medal as an award.
Then, specifically for runners who take part in the 10K distance category, there is a podium for the 3 fastest finishers, each divided into the male and female categories. The winners will receive cash prizes worth millions of rupiah.
Interestingly, in this running race all runners will receive various merchandise in the race pack provided by the committee as well as a free health check.
In addition, on the day of the event there are also various kinds of entertainment presented during the running route and in the FKT UGM environment, various UMKM tenants and sponsors, attractive door prizes for lucky participants, and the Best Costume Award for participants who want to show off their style while running.
