EDUCATION — In an effort to support operational activities while carrying out educational and humanitarian missions in Yogyakarta, the Taman Cipta Karya Nusantara Foundation (TCKN) inaugurated a new building called the ” Hanoman Building ”’ located on Jalan Wonokerso, Ngetiran, Sariharjo, Sleman, Yogyakarta. With this building, all activities under the TCKN Foundation are centered in this building.
TCKN Foundation Chairperson Christa Tri Rahayu explained that the foundation she leads is an educational & social foundation that aims to provide a positive impact on society. The Lilliput World is part of TCKN. This school implements a learning system with a combined method of ‘Montessori’, Taman Siswa (Ki Hajar Dewantara) and Living Values Education which is full of Javanese cultural acculturation in Jogja.
Meanwhile, the name “Hanoman” was chosen as the name of this building because the Foundation was inspired by the heroism of Hanuman in the Ramayana Epic, whose story is famous throughout the world.
“In order to explore the symbolic and cultural meaning of Hanuman, today we are holding a cultural discussion with the theme “Hanuman and The Ramayana: Insight and The Lesson For Indonesia Today” with the main resource person Fr. Gregorius Budi Subanar SJ and cultural figure DR. Peter Carey. This activity will be guided by Dr. Ayu Cornellia Founder of Cornellia Co PR Marketing Agency and will be held in the Nusantara room, Hanoman building. ” said Christa to media crews, Monday (9/9/2024)
Christa further revealed that this 4-story building houses all educational and social activities of the TCKN Foundation. Apart from The Lilliput World, several other TCKN Foundation activities; The Bridge Academy which is a learning forum for prospective teachers of The Lilliput World to introduce the philosophy of the Montessori learning method.
Then, part of The Bridge Academy is the Parents Community which is a learning forum for Lilliput parents to enrich their knowledge about their role as parents. Several forms of activities such as training, talk shows, workshops are carried out with discussions of the Montessori method/philosophy.
The next activity is Social Service, several activities that have been carried out some time ago include blood donation, health checks for elderly residents around the building, the migrant community, construction workers in the Hanoman building, residents around the Bulaksalak village area to health talks with the Sanjaya Foundation girls’ dormitory.
” Social Service activities involve various national and international volunteers, students and professionals, individuals and institutions. The last is the Nusa International Hospitality Course (NIHC) which is engaged in the hospitality and tourism sector. ” said Christa.
Christa emphasized that in its community service activities, TCKN always prioritizes the values of respect, responsibility, goodwill, integrity, equality, and positivity in every activity, of course, it can be a forum for anyone to gain and share knowledge between communities, foundations, both individuals and institutions.
