GREEN – The atmosphere of the Green Open Spaces (GOS ) in Yogyakarta City will soon be more beautiful with Tabebuya and Trembesi flower plants. This is the impact of the donation of 250 shade trees from PT Indofoof CBF Sukses Makmur Tbk.
The symbolic handover of these trees was carried out at the Jopraban GOS , Wirobrajan by the Branch Human Resources Manager of PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk Semarang, Ananto Pramandhika to the Acting Mayor of Yogyakarta, Sugeng Purwanto, Wednesday (18/9/2024).
On that occasion, the Branch Human Resources Manager of PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk Semarang, Ananto Pramandhika said that the handover of these shade trees was part of PT Indofood’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility program for the environment in Yogyakarta City.
The Tabebuya and Trembesi trees were chosen because of their ability to absorb harmful carbon compounds. These two trees can survive in both dry and humid weather. In addition, these two trees are suitable for planting in tropical to subtropical climates.
“This tree can function as a dust filter, absorb pollutants such as carbon dioxide, protect against the scorching sun, and can lower the environmental temperature,” said Ananto on the sidelines of the activity.
Meanwhile, the Acting Mayor of Yogyakarta, Sugeng Purwanto greatly appreciated what PT Indofood had done. According to him, the activity can raise public awareness so that they can continue to plant trees even in narrow land.
: The presence of GOS in the city of Yogyakarta does not only have an impact on the availability of public space. However, many sectors have also developed. “Said Sugeng.
Furthermore, Sugeng advised the entire community to be able to care for the trees so that the trees can continue to live and their benefits can be felt by many people. So, after the trees are planted, the trees must be well cared for.
“This reforestation is not only for us, but also for future generations so that they can enjoy a better environment,” he said (*/).
