ORCHESTRA— GUT Orchestra is a new orchestra entity that is ready to enliven the Indonesian music industry. After re-releasing the song “Sampai Jadi Debu” as GUT Orchestra’s first work in August. Now GUT Orchestra is here with its second work which is very interesting, involving young singer Kunto Aji and Erwin Gutawa on piano.
“Pilu Membiru” is a work by Kunto Aji which was popular in 2018 on his Mantra-mantra album, with more than 67 million listeners on Spotify and 17 million listeners on Youtube. With touching lyrics and beautiful melody, now this song is rearranged in orchestral format, with Erwin Gutawa’s arrangement, and played by GUT Orchestra.
“GUT Orchestra is a form of regeneration, we founded it together with fellow musicians that I trust, to present fresh orchestral works,” said Erwin Gutawa, as a producer with more than 30 years of orchestral conducting experience in the Indonesian music industry.
“Pilu Membiru” is part of a series of works by GUT Orchestra that will be released under the umbrella project called “Indiechestra”, which will be released every week until the end of September. This orchestra will perform various “indie” music works that are popular among young people, including works by THE SIGIT, Endah N Rhesa, and Float.
