COSTUMES — Lazismu along with the ranks of the Elementary and Middle Schools of the Mantrijeron District Middle School Branch Leadership in Yogyakarta City successfully held an event to commemorate National Children’s Day 2024, at the ‘Aisyiyah Harnas Suryodiningratan Building in Yogyakarta City, Saturday (10/8/2024).
The activity carried the theme “By Caring for the Environment, Children are Protected, Indonesia Advances” and was packaged through 2 events, namely a fashion show and storytelling with Kak Dani.
The head of the event committee, Yati, said that the event was attended by around 350 children consisting of 6 Kindergartens and 3 Aisyiyah Playgroups throughout the Mantrijeron District.
The purpose of the event was to foster children’s talents on National Children’s Day.
“Because yesterday’s National Children’s Day coincided with the school start day, the event was full and the teachers agreed to hold it today,” Yati told reporters after the event, Saturday (10/8/2024).
Meanwhile, the Head of Early Childhood Education, Elementary and Middle School, Aisyiah Branch, Mantrijeron District, Indah Yuliwati Sri Kusdahayu explained that she and other committee members included the environment because they wanted to educate children about how to manage waste properly with high sales value.
“The theme of the environment was chosen because right now in Jogja there is a waste emergency, so we are trying to introduce children to this condition with the hope that children can protect the environment from an early age by minimizing waste and utilizing waste,” said Indah.
On the other hand, Maya as a representative of the child’s parents said that this event was very good because it could train children’s mentality to be more confident and more creative. Evidently, her daughter admitted that she was very enthusiastic about participating in the event, especially in the fashion show session.
Regarding the making of the fashion show costume for her daughter, Maya admitted that the making process took two days. Therefore, in the future, she hopes that the committee will hold a similar event every year.
