EXPORT — Palem Craft, a home decoration company in Bantul, DIY, is again exporting home decoration products to several countries in Europe. The last time this company exported crafts made from natural fibers, to Spain. Exports were worth USD 7,000.
Deddy Effendi, owner of CV Palem Craft explained that currently his company has three superior products, namely decorations, mirrors, and lamps. He collaborates with farmers throughout Indonesia to obtain original raw materials. Meanwhile, for the workforce, he involves 1000 craftsmen from the DIY community.
“Our exports have penetrated Europe such as France, Greece, Spain, and Turkey. Incidentally, Turkey has a very good market. In addition to countries such as the USA, Thailand, the Philippines, Africa. Kenya too,” said Deddy.
Deddy explained, from January to June 2024, CV Palem Craft managed to export its products worth a total of USD 245,000. seeing the high demand from the American and European markets.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Beny Suharsono said, through the DIY Trade and Industry Office, his party had established a partnership so that MSME products that were starting to export could be supported. According to him, many MSMEs have received large market demand, which then automatically become the driving sector of the economy in society.
“There is quality control, there is product verification, training so that it is standardized, which will improve the quality and trust of MSMEs. So, from home industry, it really becomes a product with export quality,” said Beny. (*/)
