SPORT — The People’s Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) once again supports improving the achievements of Indonesian athletes to be able to compete at the international level, as well as encouraging the emergence of potential young athletes.
This time, LPS supports the Executive Board of the All Indonesia Athletics Association (PB PASI) in holding the LPS Indonesia Open U-18 and the 2024 National Athletics Championship. In addition to being attended by national athletes and athletes from various regions, this event is also attended by athletes from representatives of 7 participating countries, namely Australia, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand and Timor Leste.
“We want to support PB PASI’s efforts in producing runners who can excel in the future, and as a sporting event, LPS also hopes to encourage the achievements of our running athletes so that they can compete with international athletes or even set new records,” said the Head of the Banking Restructuring Program Preparation Office and LPS Institutional Relations, Arinto Wicaksono after opening the event at the Mandala Krida Stadium, Yogyakarta, Saturday (20/7/2024).
Furthermore, Arinto explained that by holding the Indonesia Open U-18 event and the 2024 National Athletics Championship, it also aims to bring LPS closer to the community, especially athletes and running enthusiasts. So that they understand more about the deposit guarantee program organized by LPS.
Arinto hopes that with more events supported by LPS, LPS will be known to the wider community so that LPS can increasingly provide a significant positive impact on the community, especially for bank customers throughout Indonesia.
The National Athletics Championship has been routinely held since 2022, which aims to find young athletic seeds who can be projected as champion athletes in the future.
This year the activity will take place in Yogyakarta for 5 days, on July 20-24, 2024. This event will compete in 23 match numbers for the U-16 category and 39 match numbers for the U-18 category. (*/Sulist Ds)
