FLYING ROBOTS— The Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (IFRC) 2024 was finally held at the Yogyakarta State University (UNY) Gunung Kidul campus and Gading Airfield, Playen District, Gunung Kidul on September 12-18, 2024.
As one of the universities that is active in developing technological innovation, UNY is determined to make this event an important momentum to highlight the research potential and creativity of the nation’s children in the field of aerial robotics. This activity collaborates with the Indonesian Air Force as a partner in using Gading Airfield as a place to implement IFRC.
Prof. Guntur as the Person in Charge of IFRC Activities said that his party was proud to be able to host . Because, this event is not only a competition, but also a platform to show how far technology research in Indonesia has developed, especially in the field of flying robots and drones,
The Indonesian Flying Robot Contest 2024 at UNY carries 5 competition categories, namely: Racing Plane (RP), Fixed Wing (FW), Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL), Technology Development (TD) and Long Endurance Low Attitude (LELA).
“We hope that this event can be a catalyst for the emergence of new innovations from Indonesian students. We are also ready to provide the best competition experience, as well as strengthen research networks between universities in Indonesia,” said Guntur.
He explained, is an annual competition organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center – National Achievement Center, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology which aims to provide a means for students to be creative in the field of aerodynamics with unmanned vehicle technology that carries out missions autonomously.
IFRC is also known as a place or networking forum for exchanging educational information to the general public, students, observers, researchers and UAV activists.
This year, there are 100 teams from 42 universities in Indonesia participating in this prestigious competition.
