SPORTOURISM — Sport tourism is one of the tourist attractions in the city of Yogyakarta that is increasingly in demand by the people of Jogja. This can be seen from the high interest of the public to participate in the KAI Glow Night Fun Run Night Running Competition on Friday (2/8/2024). It was recorded that more than 2500 runners of various ages took part in this competition.
President Director of PT Railink (KAI Airport) Purwanto Handry Nugroho said that the KAI Glow Night Fun Run activity was the second event after the previous year it was held in Binjai City, North Sumatra.
“The enthusiasm in the city of Yogyakarta is extraordinary, we opened a quota of 2,500 participants and in just 3 weeks the quota was filled,” said Purwanto on the sidelines of the activity
Furthermore, Purwanto said that in this activity there were 2 types of routes that were competed, namely a route of 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers. Although the distance is different, both of them pass through areas that are iconic tourist attractions and history of Yogyakarta, such as Titik Nol Km and the Tugu area.
Meanwhile, one of the participants named Dwi from Sleman Regency said that this was his first opportunity to run at night with the theme of a glow fun run, which he hopes can be held again next year in Yogyakarta.
“This is my 7th experience of participating in a running event. But specifically for a running event with the concept of a glow night fun run, this is the first time. Exciting and lively,” he said. (*/)
